Meet JIMMY STAHL
Trumpet, Flugel Horn, Conductor, Contractor
Jimmy was raised in a musical family, his father is a great trumpet player born in Philadelphia Pennsylvania and raised in Baltimore Maryland. Jimmy’s mother was a proficient piano player and it was Jimmy’s father that first introduced him to trumpet at the age of 8 while living in Halifax N.S. Jimmy studied privately with his dad while also playing in school under D.H. Doane (a music legend in the Maritimes). It wasn’t until years later in high school living in Hamilton, Ontario that Jimmy really became serious about his playing under the direction and encouragement of J.D. Hall. J.D. was a great teacher and it was his input into Jimmy’s life that drove him to pursuing music. Jimmy has also studied privately with some of the best players in the country. Jimmy became a proficient commercial trumpet player leaning heavily towards big band, jazz, rock, R&B, and gospel music. Jimmy has performed with many groups and artists as a musician, but has also contracted and conducted big bands and full orchestras for musicals, recordings, movies and television. Jimmy is a member in good standing of the American Federation of Musicians Local 293, Hamilton Guild of Musicians. He has resided in Niagara with his wife and daughter since 1987.
