New releases
After 50 years of live performances and various recordings, Jimmy Stahl has taken his legendary project to another level, with two new releases. He first turned to Chris Curry to produce a live audience studio recording at Session's on the River in April 2019. The successful concert helped Jimmy select the top songs as he prepared for an intense weekend at the world-class Jukasa Media Group in June. Over the course of two days, the band recorded 27 tracks with the help of JUNO-award winning sound engineers, Darren "Jeter" Magierowski, and Jill Zimmermann.
The band launched the two albums in May, 2020.

Michael Vanhevel is one of the finest up and coming young crooners in Canada today. Audiences are mesmerized by his smooth velvety style and the "swingin’ Basie style” of the Jimmy Stahl Big Band. If you close your eyes and listen you will swear your listening to Ole’ Blues Eyes and the Count Basie Orchestra. Every song in this show features various hits from leading ladies such as Diane Schuur, Natalie Cole and Shirley Bassey. We mix up the styles including ballads, swing and blues using the original arrangements from Bob Foster, Nelson Riddle, Ralph Carmichael and more. These female leads sing beautifully on this show bringing their own style and sound giving each song a fresh new approach while maintaining the integrity of each original song backed up by incredible “Basie Style” sound of the Jimmy Stahl Big Band.
